Pete has 40 years’ experience of managing and delivering professional healthcare estate & facilities services. He has held senior management roles at national, strategic, and operational levels within the Department of Health and the NHS.
He was Head of Profession for NHS Estates & Facilities Policy at the Department of Health where his principal role was to ensure the delivery of the NHS Constitutions rights for a clean, safe, fit for purpose patient care environment, and the production of technical guidance and best practice material for the NHS.
He also led the successful development and introduction of a number of national programs. These included the NHS Premises Assurance Model, Procure 21+ Construction Framework, SHAPE, and PLACE, and more recently The Lord Carter NHS Estates & Facilities Productivity and Efficiency programme.
Pete is a Chartered Engineer, who is also a professional qualified in Healthcare Facilities Management, Programme and Project leadership, and is an accredited Government & NHS Gateway Reviewer.
Pete is now President of The Institute Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management and a Trustee of the Carbon Energy Fund.
